PRATTVILLE — Orange dirt is being moved around at the "Gin Shop" project in downtown Prattville to protect the historic buildings.

Crews are building an earthen levee on the south bank of Autauga Creek to secure the historic masonry structures that have their roots in Daniel Pratt's founding of the town that now bears his name. The levee is being built to remove the buildings from the creek's flood plain.
