Chambless King Architects Named an Exemplary AXP Friendly Firm by AIA Alabama

The 2023 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Alabama Chapter’s Design Conference was recently held at the Perdido Beach Resort where Chambless King Architects was presented with the Top Block for the renovation of the Immediate headquarters in Birmingham.

In this special section, we look at the strong structural integrity of the building community in the metro, including architects, builders and agents of change.

These individuals are not only changing the skyline of the city but are shaping the suburbs in the metro area with innovative ideas and high-impact projects.

A formal opening and celebration of the Montgomery Interpretive Center (MIC) at Alabama State University will be held on March 26 at 3:00 p.m.

The event will be held at the Montgomery Interpretive Center, located on the University campus in front of The ASU Stadium on the corner of Harris Way and North University.

The MIC celebrates Montgomery’s storied history of the famous 1965 Selma to Montgomery March that helped obtain voting rights for black citizens.

On February 28, Chambless King Architects was honored by the Alabama Council of the American Institute of Architects for three design projects. The awards were presented to Chambless King at the Council’s annual Excellence in Design award gala held at the historic Florentine building in downtown Birmingham.

The 2021 Excellence in Design Awards were hosted by AIA Alabama on Saturday, October 16 at The Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The program celebrated the diverse breadth of architecture practiced in the state.

On May 6, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Alabama honored the Auburn University Advanced Structural Engineering Laboratory with a 2021 Engineering Excellence State Award.
